The Psalter is Israel’s hymnbook: lament, praise, thanksgiving, royal psalms, and wisdom. It trains the heart to speak to God in trouble and in joy, and it points ahead to the Messiah.

1Een lied Hammaaloth. Ziet, looft den HEERE, alle gij knechten des HEEREN! gij, die allen nacht in het huis des HEEREN staat. 2Heft uw handen op naar het heiligdom, en looft den HEERE. 3De HEERE zegene u uit Sion, Hij, Die den hemel en de aarde gemaakt heeft.
