The Psalter is Israel’s hymnbook: lament, praise, thanksgiving, royal psalms, and wisdom. It trains the heart to speak to God in trouble and in joy, and it points ahead to the Messiah.

1Canto dei pellegrinaggi. Di Davide. O Eterno, il mio cuore non è gonfio li superbia, e i miei occhi non sono alteri; non attendo a cose troppo grandi e troppo alte per me. 2In verità ho calmata e quietata l’anima mia, com’è quieto il bimbo divezzato sul seno di sua madre.
