Psalms
The Psalter is Israel’s hymnbook: lament, praise, thanksgiving, royal psalms, and wisdom. It trains the heart to speak to God in trouble and in joy, and it points ahead to the Messiah.

1تَرْنِيمَةُ ٱلْمَصَاعِدِ إِلَيْكَ رَفَعْتُ عَيْنَيَّ يَا سَاكِنًا فِي ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ. 2هُوَذَا كَمَا أَنَّ عُيُونَ ٱلْعَبِيدِ نَحْوَ أَيْدِي سَادَتِهِمْ، كَمَا أَنَّ عَيْنَيِ ٱلْجَارِيَةِ نَحْوَ يَدِ سَيِّدَتِهَا، هَكَذَا عُيُونُنَا نَحْوَ ٱلرَّبِّ إِلَهِنَا حَتَّى يَتَرَأَّفَ عَلَيْنَا. 3ٱرْحَمْنَا يَارَبُّ ٱرْحَمْنَا، لِأَنَّنَا كَثِيرًا مَا ٱمْتَلَأْنَا هَوَانًا. 4كَثِيرًا مَا شَبِعَتْ أَنْفُسُنَا مِنْ هُزْءِ ٱلْمُسْتَرِيحِينَ وَإِهَانَةِ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ.
