The Psalter is Israel’s hymnbook: lament, praise, thanksgiving, royal psalms, and wisdom. It trains the heart to speak to God in trouble and in joy, and it points ahead to the Messiah.

1[Salmo] di Davide, da rammemorare; [dato] al Capo de' Musici O DIO, [affrettati] a liberarmi; O Signore, affrettati in mio aiuto. 2Quelli che cercano l'anima mia sien confusi e svergognati; Quelli che prendono piacere nel mio male voltin le spalle, E sieno svergognati. 3Quelli che dicono: Eia, eia!
